The Kings River Trio was formed in 2002 to provide quality live music for all occasions. Trio members all reside in Reedley California, a small town where you will find the beautiful Kings River and community that promotes the arts.
Musicians

David Alvarado (Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute)

Earned his Bachelor of Arts in music education from Cal
State University Fresno. David has been a music educator
and band director for elementary through high school in the
Fresno area. He has given private music lessons for 34
years, and continues to do so as owner of Harvard House
Music store. He is a freelance musician performing with the
Fresno Grand Opera, Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra and has
played for artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Natalie Cole,
Johnny Mathis, Arturo Sandoval, and the Temptations.
Julia Alvarado (Cello)

Julia Alvarado has enjoyed playing the cello for most of
her life. She first studied with the late Pearl Winter of
Fresno, Ca. and later with Margaret Rowell of Berkeley, Ca.
Some of her most memorable experiences as a cellist have
been playing as soloist with the Fresno Philharmonic as
winner of the 1980 Young Musician Competition. She also
played as soloist with the Tulare County Symphony as the
winner of the 1982 William Clinite Solo Artist Award. She
has been a member of the Tulare County Symphony and the
Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently she enjoys playing
as a freelance musician in the Central Valley and teaching
private cello instruction.
Aarne Kela (Piano/Keyboard)

A native of Reedley, Aarne Kela started piano lessons when
he was six, and continued his studies through high school.
He graduated with a history degree from Columbia
University. Returning to California, Aarne earned a masters
degree in piano under Andreas Werz at Fresno State. Aarne
was the winner of various piano competitions, including Mu
Phi Epsilon and Fresno Organizers scholarship competitions.
As a graduate teacher, he taught piano classes to Fresno
State students. Aarne stays busy teaching piano, playing
for Reedley High School choirs, performing for Reedley's
River City Theater Company, and playing for Christ Lutheran
Church. He was recently selected to be the guest artist at
the Music Teacher's Association Baroque Festival.
